Abimbola Adunni Adelakun was born to Nigerian parents in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria. She was educated at the University of Ibadan, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Arts degree in communication and language arts. She is engaged in Ph.D studies at the University of Texas, Austin.

Abimbola is a fearless back page columnist for The Punch Newspaper in Lagos every Thursday. She has been described as the Punch’s youngest back page columnist.

She is the author The Sun Will Shine On Everything You Do and also the author of the novel Under The Brown Rusted Roof, a book which was inspired by Prof Femi Osofisans, tripartite lecture when Abimbola was still a student at the University of Ibadan. Under The Brown Rusted Roof is a book which uses the Yoruba folklore to mirror the culture, tradition, beliefs and idiosyncrasies of the people of Ibadan and the polygamy of the patriarchs.

Abimbola is the winner of the 2010 edition of the Literary Journalist of the Year, awarded by the Association of Nigerian Authors.

Obviously, not all are created equal. In other words, some are far better than others.
